Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Chicago Blackhawks placed defenseman
Trevor van Riemsdyk on the long-term injury list on Monday.
Chicago also recalled defenseman Stephen Johns and goaltender Antti Raanta
from Rockford of the American Hockey League and returned forward Joakim
Nordstrom and goaltender Scott Darling to Rockford.
Van Riemsdyk was struck in the left leg with a puck during Sunday’s 6-2
victory over Dallas. The rookie blueliner, who is the younger brother of
Toronto forward James van Riemsdyk, has one assist in 18 games this season.
Raanta is 1-2-0 with one shutout, a .933 save percentage and 2.03 goals-
against average in three games with Chicago this season.
