Blackhawks rip Flyers thanks to strong first period

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – Patrick Kane scored a pair of power-play
goals and Antti Raanta stopped all 32 shots he faced in his first start of the
year, as Chicago silenced Philadelphia, 4-0, at United Center.

Raanta notched his second career shutout and improved his overall record to
14-5-4 in 26 lifetime appearances.

Brandon Saad and Bryan Bickell also lit the lamp for the Blackhawks, who rode
a three-goal opening period to up their record to 4-0-1. Patrick Sharp added
two assists.

Steve Mason was under siege at times, finishing with 39 stops for the Flyers,
who fell to 1-3-2 on the season.
