New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The National Hockey League issued a fine
to Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin for an incident in Friday
night’s game.
Emelin will part with $11,021.51 for delivering an elbow to Buffalo captain
Brian Gionta early in the third period of the Sabres’ 2-1 victory. Emelin was
given a minor for an illegal check to the head on the play.
