Canadiens’ Pacioretty exits after check

Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) – Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty
left Thursday night’s game against Anaheim in the third period after hitting
the boards on a hard check.

Pacioretty was several feet from the boards in the Ducks zone when he was hit
from behind by Anaheim defenseman Clayton Stoner after releasing a pass.

The check sent Pacioretty flying into the glass, with his head or neck area
appearing to strike first.

He was on the ice for a bit before skating slowly off the ice with 15:40
remaining in the period. Stoner was not whistled for a penalty on the play.

Pacioretty leads Montreal with 25 points on 13 goals and 12 assists.

Stoner and Canadiens forward Brandon Prust fought several minutes later.
