Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) – Yannick Weber scored the go-ahead goal with
8:28 remaining and the Vancouver Canucks escaped with a 5-4 win Wednesday over
the Edmonton Oilers.
Radim Vrbata scored twice, including once on the power play, and Jannik Hansen
had a short-handed goal for the Canucks, who were coming off a four-day break
after losing 5-0 to Phoenix last Friday.
David Perron’s would-be tying goal for Edmonton in the final seconds was
waved off after a replay review showed he kicked the puck in with his skate.
The Oilers rallied back from deficits of 2-0 and 3-1 to tie the score on
Andrew Ference’s goal 6:21 into the third period but suffered their fourth
straight loss.
