Capitals’ Wilson fined $2K for diving

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson was
fined $2,000 by the NHL on Friday for a second diving offense.

Wilson, 20, received minor penalties for embellishment in a March 1 game
against Toronto and again in a March 19 game against Minnesota.

Under NHL Rule 64, which is new this season, players are warned for a first
instance of diving and then fined for each one after that up to a maximum of
$5,000. Head coaches are fined beginning with a fourth instance for a
particular player.
