New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Colorado Avalanche forwards Cody McLeod and
Gabriel Landeskog were fined by the NHL for their actions at the end of
Saturday’s 3-1 home loss to the Minnesota Wild.
McLeod was fined $3,091.40 for entering the game to start an altercation. He
took a run at Minnesota’s Mikael Granlund, delivering a hit after a faceoff at
center ice, and then immediately dropped the gloves and threw at punches at
Charlie Coyle, who came to the aid of his teammate, with 3.3 seconds
remaining.
It got heated between the benches and Landeskog leaned around the glass
partition to punch fellow captain Mikko Koivu in the head, which drew a $5,000
fine from the league.
