Devils tie game late, end SO futility

Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) – The New Jersey Devils’ run of shootout
futility is over.

Jacob Josefson scored the lone goal in the skills competition, lifting the
Devils to a 2-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night.

New Jersey had lost an NHL-record 18 straight shootouts since beating the Jets
on March 10, 2013.

Michael Ryder tied the game with 3:27 remaining in regulation, and Cory
Schneider made 24 saves for the Devils, who picked up their first home win of
the season.

Ondrej Pavelec stopped 27 shots for Winnipeg, which has picked up at least a
point in three consecutive games (2-0-1).
