Dubnyk, Perry, Desharnais claim NHL weekly honors

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk,
Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry and Montreal Canadiens forward David
Desharnais were named the NHL’s top players for the week on Monday.

Dubnyk earned the First Star after making a combined 42 saves in consecutive
shutout victories this week for the Wild over the Blackhawks and the
Avalanche.

Since being acquired from Arizona on Jan. 14, Dubnyk is 7-1-0 with a 1.31
goals-against average for the Wild and is the fastest player to earn four
shutouts with one club among goaltenders who have debuted with a team during
the expansion era.

Perry earned the Second Star for sharing the league lead with four goals and
six points over four games. The 29-year-old has now tallied 20 goals for the
seventh time in his career, tying Paul Kariya for the second-most in franchise
history.

Desharnais was given the Third Star after leading the NHL with five assists
and also scoring a goal. He tied a personal best by supplying three helpers in
Montreal’s 6-2 win over New Jersey on Saturday.
