St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – Different goalie but same result for the
Minnesota Wild against the Colorado Avalanche.
Charlie Coyle scored a first-period goal and Devan Dubnyk made it hold up by
making 18 saves as the Wild blanked the Avalanche 1-0 on Saturday at Xcel
Energy Center.
Dubnyk posted his second consecutive shutout and fourth overall with Minnesota
since being acquired last month.
The Wild, who have won five games in a row, have shut out the Avalanche in all
three meetings this season. Darcy Kuemper made a combined 46 saves as
Minnesota outscored Colorado 8-0 to sweep a home-and-home series to begin the
season.
Semyon Varlamov stopped 28 shots, including 16 in a lopsided first period, for
Colorado, which has failed to score a goal in back-to-back games. The
Avalanche had a 3-0-1 stretch end with Thursday’s 3-0 home loss to Detroit.
