Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Anaheim Ducks have acquired defenseman
Colby Robak from the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenseman Jesse Blacker
and a conditional draft pick.
The pick could be either a fourth-round selection in 2016 or a sixth-round
choice in 2017.
Robak appeared in seven games with the Panthers this season and failed to
record a point. He has three assists in 42 career NHL games with Florida.
The 24-year-old Manitoba native was selected by Florida in the second round of
the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The Ducks have had a rash of injuries to their blue line recently, with
Francois Beauchemin and Ben Lovejoy on injured reserve with broken fingers.
Eric Brewer, just acquired from Tampa Bay last week, suffered a broken foot
last week and is expected to be sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks.
Blacker, a second-round pick by Toronto in 2009, made his NHL debut last week
against Chicago.
