Hammond guides Senators over Jets

Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) – Andrew Hammond turned aside 35 shots to
lead the Ottawa Senators in a 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday.

Kyle Turris had a goal and an assist while Bobby Ryan and Erik Condra also
scored for the Senators, who have won six of their last seven.

Michael Frolik scored the only goal of the game for the Jets, who have dropped
four of their last six.

Michael Hutchinson allowed three goals on 17 shots and was replaced with just
over eight minutes to play in the second by Ondrej Pavelec, who stopped all
three shots he faced.

Ottawa grabbed a 1-0 lead 4:59 in as Turris raced down the left wing and from
the circle snapped a shot in off the right post for his 16th of the season.

The second goal came at 9:07 of the second period as Mika Zibanejad whipped a
pass from the right corner to the slot, where Ryan one-timed it home for a
power-play goal and a 2-0 lead.

Condra gave the team a 3-0 lead just under three minutes later when Mark Stone
skated the puck behind the net and from the right side was able to get it out
to the circle where Condra one-timed it home.

Winnipeg finally got on the board 5:46 into the third when Tyler Myers fired a
pass from the left wing that Lee Stempniak tipped and Frolik finished off from
the right side.

Winnipeg pulled Pavelec with 2 1/2 minutes to play, but was unable to get any
