Hurricanes’ Ward sidelined with lower body injury

Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward is
expected to miss Thursday’s game against Washington because of a lower body
injury.

Ward missed practice Wednesday after stopping 32 shots in Carolina’s 2-1 win
over Nashville on Tuesday. In 17 games this season, the 30-year-old veteran
has a record of 8-8-1 with a 2.48 goals-against average and a .912 save
percentage.

Anton Khudobin is slated to start Thursday against the Capitals, while the
‘Canes also recalled goaltender Drew MacIntyre from their American Hockey
League affiliate in Charlotte to serve as the backup.
