Islanders edge Kings in SO

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Chad Johnson stopped 28-of-29 shots in
regulation and denied both skaters he faced in the shootout to give the New
York Islanders a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

Johnson stopped Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter around Kyle Okposo’s shootout
goal, and Frans Nielsen beat Jonathan Quick between the pads to seal the win.

Brock Nelson scored a power-play goal in the first period for the Islanders,
who were coming off an overtime win in Anaheim on Wednesday.

The Kings had their six-game home winning streak snapped despite Quick making
25 saves.
