Isles place concussed Grabovski on IR

Uniondale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Islanders placed
forward Mikhail Grabovski on injured reserve Wednesday, with the move
retroactive to Oct. 16.

Grabovski is out indefinitely and hasn’t played since suffering a concussion
as a result of absorbing a clean, hard, open-ice hit from San Jose’s John
Scott last Thursday.

The 30-year-old center contributed two goals and one assist to the Isles’
4-0-0 start to the season, after the club inked him to a four-year contract
at the outset of free agency in July.
