Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – New Jersey Devils forward Jaromir Jagr is
expected to miss Thursday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs because of
Jagr suffered what looked to be a head injury on Tuesday when he was drilled
with a late hit from Pittsburgh’s Robert Bortuzzo. The 42-year-old Jagr
remained on the ice for several minutes before leaving under his own power.
“Jagr was sick before the game the other night,” said Devils president Lou
Lamoriello on Thursday morning. “He does not have a concussion. He just can’t
Jagr leads New Jersey with 15 points this season, scoring four goals and
recording 11 assists.
Bortuzzo was suspended for two games for his hit.
The Devils will also be without defenseman Adam Larsson because of the flu,
while veteran forward Patrik Elias won’t play because of a groin injury.
