NHL suspends Garbutt, Lowry for separate incidents

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The National Hockey League handed down a
pair of suspensions on Thanksgiving, one to a member of an American-based club
and one to a member of a Canadian franchise.

Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt was handed a two-game suspension for kneeing
Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall on Tuesday. As a repeat offender, Garbutt
was penalized financially based on his average annual salary, and will forfeit
$43,902.44.

Winnipeg Jets forward Adam Lowry was handed a one-game ban after boarding
Buffalo Sabres winger Patrick Kaleta on Wednesday. Lowry was given a major and
a game misconduct for his actions. Lowry will hand over $4,453.41 in salary as
well.
