Panthers get by Penguins in another long shootout

Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Aleksander Barkov provided the lone goal of
a seven-round shootout as Florida claimed a 4-3 decision over Pittsburgh on
Monday.

After Simon Despres had his chance deflected away by Roberto Luongo to open
the final round, Barkov faked a move from forehand to backhand up the middle
and casually flipped a shot past Marc-Andre Fleury which ended the game.

Jimmy Hayes scored twice in regulation and Jussi Jokinen once for the
Panthers, while Luongo came up with 24 saves. Florida has endured four
shootouts in its last six contests, lasting a total of 35 rounds.

Patric Hornqvist, Nick Spaling and Evgeni Malkin lit the lamp for the
Penguins, and Fleury stopped 34 shots.
