Pens D Bortuzzo suspended 2 games for Jagr hit

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The National Hockey League on Wednesday
issued a two-game suspension to Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Robert
Bortuzzo.

Bortuzzo was not penalized despite delivering a hit to the head of New Jersey
Devils forward Jaromir Jagr with just over two minutes remaining in the second
period of the Pens’ 1-0 win on Tuesday.

Jagr did not return to the game, but he is not expected to miss any additional
time.

The 25-year-old blueliner will be docked $6,451.62 for his hit, which
automatically goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund. He will not be
eligible to return until Dec. 8 when the Penguins face the Rangers in New
York.
