Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Friday
that forward Steve Downie and goaltender Thomas Greiss are the latest players
to test positive for the mumps.
Downie and Greiss along with forward Brandon Sutter were sent home Monday to
be tested for the illness and were placed in isolation until the test results
were discovered.
Sutter tested negative and will return to the team. Sidney Crosby, Beau
Bennett and Olli Maatta have all previously tested positive, though Crosby is
back in the lineup.
The Penguins conclude their three-day holiday break on Saturday, when the host
the Washington Capitals.
