Rangers down Pens in OT to win series

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Carl Hagelin scored the series-clinching
goal at 10:52 of overtime as the New York Rangers advanced with a 2-1 victory
over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 5 of this Eastern Conference quarterfinal
series.

In the extra session, Dominic Moore controlled the puck in the right corner
boards and Hagelin eventually worked it out, whipping a shot in from the right
circle for the win.

Derek Stepan had the other goal and Henrik Lundqvist made 37 saves for the
Rangers, who won a first-round matchup for the fourth straight time and will
face the winner of the Washington/NY Islanders series in the semifinals.

Nick Spaling had the only goal of the game for the Penguins, who had lost to
the Rangers in the semifinals last season. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 34 shots
in the loss.
