Ottawa, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – Dale Weise scored his second goal of the
night 8:47 into overtime to help the Montreal Canadiens take a stranglehold of
their quarterfinal playoff series against the Ottawa Senators.
Weise, who tied the game with under six minutes left in the third period to
force overtime, skated to the left circle and wristed a shot past Craig
Anderson short side for a 2-1 win and a 3-0 series lead on Sunday.
Anderson, playing in his first game since March 29, was called upon after
Ottawa dropped the first two games of the series in Montreal with Andrew
Hammond between the pipes. Anderson nearly secured his third career postseason
shutout, but instead finished with 47 saves in a disappointing loss.
Carey Price made 33 stops for his 20th career postseason victory.
Clarke MacArthur scored the lone goal for the Senators, who will look to
salvage the series in Game 4 at home on Wednesday.
