Wild place Ballard, Folin on IR

St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – The Minnesota Wild placed sidelined
defensemen Keith Ballard and Christian Folin on injured reserve Tuesday, both
retroactive to Oct. 21.

Both players have missed the last three games and are eligible to come off the
list at any time since the seven-day window has passed, but neither will be in
the lineup as the Wild take on the Bruins in Boston.

Also missing the contest will be forwards Jonas Brodin and Erik Haula, who
were both hurt in Monday night’s come-from-ahead 5-4 loss to the Rangers in
Manhattan.

Haula has suffered concussion-like symptoms in the wake of a hit by New York’s
John Moore, for which Moore will have an in-person hearing with the NHL’s
department of player safety at a date and time to be determined. Brodin was
felled by a Chris Kreider check, actions for which Kreider was ejected from
the contest but was spared supplemental discipline.

To fill the open roster spots on the back line, Minnesota recalled defensemen
Stu Bickel and Justin Falk from Iowa of the American Hockey League.
