Wild place Harding on waivers

St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – The Minnesota Wild placed goaltender Josh
Harding on waivers Monday after activating him from injured reserve.

Harding missed the start of the season because of a fractured right foot he
suffered in an off-ice incident during the late summer.

The Wild already have two goaltenders on their roster in Darcy Kuemper and
Niklas Backstrom, and will likely send Harding to their American Hockey League
affiliate in Iowa if he clears waivers.

Harding hasn’t played in the NHL since Dec. 31, missing the conclusion of last
season after a flare-up of multiple sclerosis.

The 30-year-old Saskatchewan native and winner of the 2013 Masterton Trophy
was 18-7-3 with a league-best .933 save percentage and a league-low 1.65
goals-against average in 29 games before sitting out the remainder of last
season.
