Wings G Howard out with groin injury

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) – Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard
will miss Saturday night’s completion of a home-and-home series with the
Maple Leafs due to a groin injury.

The Detroit Free Press reported that Howard was placed on goaltender-specific
48-hour injured reserve and is listed by the Wings as day-to-day.

To fill the roster spot, Petr Mrazek was recalled from Grand Rapids of the
American Hockey League.

Jonas Gustavsson, Howard’s normal backup, will make the start at Joe Louis
Arena against Toronto.
